[approach at sea] is an international and interactive art & environment project going offshore on the Baltic Sea with a sailing yacht from Sweden.
[approach at sea] is:
- an international art and environment project about the Baltic Sea
- the Baltic sea today and the possibilities of contemporary art to arouse devotion and debate
- a 35 foot yacht sails with crew from the countries surrounding the Baltic sea
- artists and environmental workers sails together across the Baltic to explore the sea in their own way, developing projects and getting to know each other´s wiews
- sailings are planned for summer of 2010, and started with a pilotproject 2009
- a webbased documentation/blog will develop while the project is proceeding- as a second part there will be a working period for the participants, partly as artists in residences around the Baltic Sea
- the third and final part is presentation of results – seminars, exhibition and more will travel to different places and be a collaborative and interactive process.
